As the IHRC development agency with extensive trans-sectored responsibilities, IHRC is focusing on youth programs in many different dimension of its work. The Human Development Report, both Global and National, has addressed educational, health and employment issues facing young people.
Programme focus at the country level is concentrated on national priorities, but often is targeted at youth, particularly those living in poverty. The programme is a part of broader initiative- the Global Initiative on primary Prevention of Substance Abuse.
The initiative seeks to develop and test a model for the prevention of substance abuse and related health and social problem among young people in a range of different geographic sites. Each site represents a Project in its own right; but it is linked to the common aims and objects of the broader initiative.
